Dear Students,

The 2026 NSF Graduate Research Fellowship Program (GRFP) solicitation is now available! All eligible first-year graduate students are encouraged to begin preparing their applications now, to prepare for deadlines the week of October 19 (specific date varies by field).

Eligible fields include: Chemistry, Computer and Information Sciences and Engineering, Engineering, Geosciences, Life Sciences, Materials Research, Mathematical Sciences, Physics & Astronomy, Psychology, and Social Sciences. Students must be enrolled (or planning to be enrolled next year) in a research-based MS or PhD program and must be U.S. citizens, nationals, or permanent residents.

The fellowship offers three years of funding, including an annual stipend of $37,000 and coverage of tuition and fees.

The OGSPS Fellowships Office is offering workshops and weekly help sessions to support students in developing strong GRFP applications. The next introductory workshop will be held virtually on Tuesday, September 1 at 5:30 PM. Topics include Resources include guidance on eligibility and application strategy, personal statements, research statements, and feedback from current GRFP Fellows.
