Major General "Jack" Hudson delivered the fourth William E. Boeing Distinguished Lecture, entitled Life, the Universe, and the JSF Program.

The lecture, sponsored by the School of Aeronautics and Astronautics was held in Stewart Center's Fowler Hall on Monday, November 18, 2002 where Major General "Jack" Hudson shared his thoughts on leadership, life, and the next generation strike warfare weapon system.

General Hudson is program executive officer and program director, Joint Strike Fighter Program, Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Navy for Research, Development and Acquisition, Arlington, Virginia. This joint program will develop and produce the next generation strike warfare weapon system for the U.S. Navy, Marine Corps, and Air Force; the Royal Navy and Air Force; and for other countries under partnership and foreign military plans.

General Hudson was born in New York State. He was commissioned in 1973 after being honored as a distinguished graduate of the U.S. Air Force Academy. He has a Bachelor of Science in astronautical engineering and master's degrees in aeronautics and astronautics, national security and strategic studies, and management. He has served in various flying and acquisition assignments. Among General Hudson's numerous awards and commendations are the Defense Distinguished Service Medal with oak leaf cluster, Defense Superior Service Medal, Defense Meritorious Service Medal with oak leaf cluster, Meritorious Service Medal with two oak leaf clusters, and the Air Force Commendation Medal.
