Rajasekhar C. Menon is chief operating officer of the Cummins Group of Companies in India, a subsidiary of Cummins Inc. Menon leads more than 8,000 employees at nine businesses fully or partially owned by Cummins in India. Cummins is a global leader in transportation and related technologies. Menon began his career with Cummins as a manufacturing engineer in its fuel systems plant in 1989. He advanced to several positions with the company, including senior engineer, operations leader, manufacturing engineering director, plant manager and general manager. As executive and general manager from 2005 to 2008, he managed Cummins manufacturing plants in the U.S., Sweden, Mexico and China. Menon served as executive director of sales and marketing for Cummins Turbo Technologies before he was asked to lead the India subsidiaries. Menon earned his master's degree in industrial engineering with a concentration in manufacturing from Purdue in 1989. He earned his bachelor's degree from the Indian Institute of Technology in 1987. Menon also completed the Program for Management Development at the Harvard Business School in 2002.
