Dick Buell is chairman and chief executive officer of Catalina Marketing, a global leader in behavior based marketing solutions. In this position, he is responsible for the overall growth of the 25-year-old company. When he joined Catalina Marketing in 2004, Dick understood the immense opportunities that existed within the organization's industries of focus and beyond. With a clear strategic vision piloting the decision-making process, he has since reorganized the company and positioned it for continued growth and expansion. Prior to Catalina Marketing, Dick boasted 30 years of marketing and management experience, primarily in the consumer packaged goods industry. He was chief operating officer at Foodbrands America, a $3.6 billion processed-food business. He also served as chief executive officer of WS Brands, a holding company within the Willis Stein & Partners private equity partnership. In addition, Dick spent nine years with Griffith Laboratories Inc., serving as chief executive officer directing worldwide operating units. At Kraft Inc., he was vice president of marketing, responsible for all related initiatives in the Grocery Products division. Dick credits his initial strategic management training to his time at McKinsey & Company, where he managed domestic and global strategy organizational and operational studies. He earned his bachelor's degree in engineering from Purdue and his Master of Business Administration from the University of Chicago.
