IE Associate Professor Denny Yu honored with the 2024 IEA Outstanding Educator Award
Awarded every three years, the award is one of eight prestigious triennial awards offered by the International Ergonomics Association.
Yu recently traveled to Korea to take part in the congress, where he was presented with the award.
The award recognizes outstanding contributions to the area of ergonomics education for having:
- Developed ergonomics education programs
- Produced new methodology and/or materials for teaching ergonomics
- Graduated persons who have become outstanding ergonomists
Yu is the 11th recipient of this award, and joins a list of recipients that have made significant contributions to the field of human factors and ergonomics, including Purdue Industrial Engineering Professor Emeritus Gavriel Salvendy (Awarded in 2003). The award is the latest of many for Yu, as he was named a Rising Star of Safety by the National Safety Council, as well as the IEA/Tsinghua Award for Collaborative Human Factors and Ergonomics Education.
