The Emerging Leaders Alliance has named IE's Wenzhuo Wu The Minerals, Metals & Materials Society (TMS), Emerging Leader to attend the 2022 Emerging Leaders Alliance Conference.

The Emerging Leaders Alliance Conference takes place in late September, and provides an opportunity for engineering professionals to enhance important leadership skills. The 2022 conference covers leadership topics ranging from building productive relationships, transitioning from technical to management, managing hybrid teams, and more. 

The ELA was formed in 2008 through a United Engineering Foundation (UEF) grant, and with collaborative support from several professional societies. The vision of the ELA is to "be a respected provider of cost-effective, efficient, high-quality leadership training and networking for emerging leaders in the engineering and scientific community."
