The Purdue Industrial Engineering Graduate Student Organization (IEGSO) honored Christopher Quinn, assistant professor of industrial engineering, as this year’s recipient of the IE Outstanding Faculty Mentor Award.

Purdue IE graduate students chose Quinn for this annual award in recognition of his exceptional mentoring qualities, and honored him on May 3 in Grissom Hall's Boehm Cafe with a plaque and reception.

The inscription on the plaque he received said: "Dr. Christopher Quinn is being recognized as an exceptional mentor and a pillar of support and guidance for his students' research. Dr. Quinn stands out for his supportive, patient, and accessible nature that fosters students' academic and professional growth. He is always eager to offer support and advice while respecting the opinions of others."

On April 23, Quinn was recognized at the 2019 College of Engineering Graduate Student Research, Teaching, and Service Awards Luncheon in the Purdue Memorial Union as this year's Outstanding Faculty Mentor of Engineering Graduate Students for the School of Industrial Engineering. This award was created by the College of Engineering (CoE) to help graduate students recognize fantastic mentors for specific characteristics.
