Ten Purdue IE undergraduates will showcase their work at the Purdue University Research Conference on April 10. The conference is the culmination of Undergraduate Research Week (April 3-10, 2018).

The research week will begin with a kickoff event, "Celebrate Purdue's Thinkers, Creators, and Experimenters", on April 3 from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. in the Córdova Recreational Sports Center. According to the Office of Undergraduate Research, the event will feature ideas, creations, theatrics and discoveries representing fields across campus, many taking interdisciplinary approaches. Entries include a rocket, an electric car, a Rube Goldberg machine, 3-D printing, entrepreneurship, robots and performances. The Boilermaker Xtra Special also will be at the event, and refreshments from Insomnia Cookies will be provided.

The April 10 research conference, formerly called the Purdue Undergraduate Research Poster Symposium (URPS), has been reorganized by the Office of Undergraduate Research to showcase the wide array of scholarly and creative work from Purdue undergraduates. This conference will include oral presentations from 8:30-11:30 a.m. in STEW 214, a poster symposium from 1:00-4:00 p.m. in the PMU Ballrooms, an address by President Daniels at 4:15 p.m., and an awards ceremony afterward.
