Rethink IE

The world, as we know, is evolving at a rate that most of us can hardly keep up with. What role will future industrial engineers play in sustaining the environment, delivering cleaner energy and improving health care? How can we bring food and clean water to every corner of the world? Where do we fit into the changing needs of security and urban infrastructure?

At Purdue IE, we are leading the way.

Since its founding in 1955, Purdue’s School of Industrial Engineering has played a critical role in the history of the industrial engineering profession. From fostering the development of computer simulation methodology to intelligent manufacturing, we have been revolutionizing IE all along. The time has come to “Rethink IE”.

Introducing Ed Schreck (BSIE 1971)

During 27 years with the management consulting firm Accenture, Ed Schreck built on what he learned at Purdue to help his clients reach or exceed their goals.

Schreck has never lost his passion for Purdue and its students. Since its formation in 2008, he has chaired the Industrial Engineering Advisory Council, helping shape and define the school’s vision and
strategic priorities. Over the years, he also has provided generous philanthropic support.

“As advisory council chair, I have worked closely with Abhi and senior faculty, and I’m very excited about the progress the school has made,” he says. “It’s positioned for great success moving forward.  “Support from alumni, corporate partners and others will enable the school to take the next steps in recruiting and supporting premier faculty, recruiting and educating outstanding students, and  launching strategic initiatives.”
