Override Requests
If you are an IE or non-IE major who has submitted an override request in Scheduling Assistant/Unitime, this is how your request will be reviewed by the IE Undergraduate Office:
IE Students:
- Prerequisite errors for IE classes will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis by the IE Undergraduate Office. Students should contact their academic advisor to initiate this process. If appropriate, an override will be provided and student notified that they may register. Approval is not guaranteed and registration is contingent on available space.
- Prerequisite errors due to pending transfer credit: We will not process any overrides for pending equivalent transfer credit (see Transfer Equivalency Guide) in prerequisite cases. The credits must be posted to your Purdue transcript to be able to enroll in the subsequent course in your plan of study. Information about how to submit official transcripts for equivalent transfer credit can be found here.
- Credit Overrides: Please contact the IE advisor you met for your registration appointment for the criteria and steps to appeal for a credit override. Eligible requests will not be reviewed until after semester grades post.
NOTE: Overrides for non-IE classes are reviewed by those individual departments, not IE. Please check the appropriate departmental website(s) for more information.
Non-IE Students:
All override requests submitted by non-IE students during the batch registration process will not be processed. Non-IE students should resubmit an override request during open registration. Requests are reviewed one week after open registration begins. Approval is not guaranteed and enrollment is contingent upon space in the course amongst other factors. We recommend students plan for alternative courses as a backup.
