Congratulations to Ryan Tuomenoksa for being selected as the Engineering Commencement Student Responder!
Ryan is a senior in the School of Industrial Engineering (IE), graduating this May, who has clearly distinguished himself through excellence in both scholarship and campus leadership. Among of his many accomplishments are President of the student chapter of the Institute of Industrial Engineers (IIE), member of the Alpha Pi Mu IE honorary and consistent member of the Dean’s List, Student Ambassador for Industrial Engineering, and Host and Publicity Officer for Old Masters.
Professor Robert Proctor receives Franklin V. Taylor Award
Professor Robert Proctor, Distinguished Professor of Psychological Sciences who has a Courtesy appointment in the School of Industrial Engineering, has been named recipient of this year's Franklin V. Taylor Award. His award was made for Outstanding Contributions in the Field of Applied Experimental/Engineering Psychology. This is an award given by the American Psychological Association. Congratulations Professor Proctor!
On the Move! IE Graduate Program jumps 5 slots to No. 10 in the latest US News and World Report Rankings
Purdue's School of Industrial Engineering is now ranked No. 10 in the in the U.S. News and World Report's annual list of the best American graduate school programs. Coupled with an undergraduate ranking in the top 5, Purdue Industrial Engineering is well positioned for educating the industrial engineer of 2013 and beyond.
IE Alumni Receives IEEE Honor
Maria Vlachopoulou, an engineer at the Department of Energy's Pacific Northwest National Laboratory, has been recognized as IEEE/IEEE-USA's 2013 New Faces of Engineering honoree during National Engineer Week (Feb. 17-23, 2013).
Google Research Awards - Winter 2013
Professor Ji Soo Yi has been awarded a Google Research Award in the category of Human-computer Interaction.
