Robotics & AI in Medicine
A Collaboration to Create a Center for AI and Robotic Excellence in Medicine (CARE).
Purdue, CTSI and IU School of Medicine invite you to participate in a workshop connecting industry, government and academics, and focused on outlining the innovations in AI, robotics and engineering to improve surgical performance and outcomes. Please join for an opportunity to meet with key stakeholders on establishing a Center for AI and Robotic Excellence in medicine (CARE) in Indianapolis.

Workshop topics will include:
- Embodied AI: This research priority explores the integration of AI with wearables, cyber-physical systems, and robotics to enhance clinical and surgical performance—advancing autonomous and symbiotic surgical systems, tele-mentoring, and digital twins to deliver expert care and training across diverse and distributed environments.
- Field & Frontier Medicine: Multimodal telehealth technologies enable Just-in-Time (JIT) medicine in austere environments—leveraging AI-driven surrogate experts and autonomous medical logistics to support life-saving care, dynamic guidance, and prolonged field treatment in rural, frontier, and battlefield scenarios.
- Autonomous Labs: This thrust advances AI-integrated robotics and automation to enable adaptive, minimally supervised experimentation across disciplines—including living systems—through autonomous gloveboxes, biotic robotics, and mobile diagnostic labs for frontier healthcare and research.
- Hubs & Data Sets: Data abound, but many challenges remain. Before the above thrusts can be realized in standard care, cyber standards and infrastructure must be designed, optimized, built, secured, monitored, and maintained.
