A Boilermaker Welcome! Anne Wrobetz is joining us this fall in our graduate program. She is from Longmont, Colorado and earned her BS in Environmental Engineering and MS in Civil Engineering, both from the University of Colorado at Boulder.

New Graduate Student Spotlight: Azizi Penn

A Boilermaker Welcome! Azizi Penn is a native of California, born in South Los Angeles. She discovered coding in high school and has been hooked ever since. She earned a B.S. in Computer Science directly after high school and an M.S. in Software Engineering later in life. She is married with three children.

New Graduate Student Spotlight: Bray Bonner

A Boilermaker Welcome! Bray Bonner joins us from Atlanta, Georgia. He has worked in academia for the last seven years serving as an engineering technology instructor and program director (department chair) at a technical college for four years. Currently, Bray is an IT project manager lead for Instructional Technology and Research, where he manages high performance computing (HPC) projects whose end users are national researchers, campus faculty and their students.

A Boilermaker Welcome! Fadhla is from Banda Aceh, Aceh, Indonesia. She received a Bachelor of Engineering in Informatics from Gunadarma University located in the Indonesia capital of Jakarta. She also received a MS in Communication and Media Engineering from Hochscule Offenberg on a German Academic Exchange scholarship.

A Boilermaker Welcome! Brooks is from Lewisburg, Tennessee. He graduated in the Spring of 2020 from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering with honors. After graduation, he moved to Taiwan with the Fulbright Program as an English Teaching Assistant in Yunlin County for the Spring of 2021.

Alex Offenbach: The Persistent Pursuit of Chasing a Dream

In the world of motorsports, chasing a dream never ends. There is always another race, another track, and the hope for another win. And as a Boilermaker, Alex Offenbach knows the drill that every race means he keeps going again and again and again until the checkered flag waves. On Sunday at the 105th running of the Indianapolis 500, Alex will be working alongside his teammates on Andretti Autosport for a third year as their damper specialist. Last year at our annual Interdisciplinary Engineering Colloquium, "Bumper to Bumper Engineering," Alex talked about his dream working at the Indy 500, his preparation in Purdue Engineering and the Multidisciplinary Engineering undergraduate degree program, and the payoffs for the hard work and long hours.
