Sydney Hummel will join elite students from across U.S. in yearlong master’s program at Cambridge University as a Churchill Scholar

Purdue senior Sydney Hummel recently was named a Churchill Scholar, a prestigious program that will fund her Master’s degree in medical sciences at University of Cambridge after she graduates. Hummel, who is studying chemical engineering at Purdue, worked closely with Purdue’s National and International Scholarships Office (NISO) to develop her scholarship application.

Joseph Alford received his BS in Chemical Engineering from Purdue University in 1966. He is currently an Automation Consultant after serving in the US Navy and then retiring from a 35-year career as an Engineering Advisor at Eli Lilly and Company.
