About the Fulbright Program

Established in 2001 by the U.S. Department of State's Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA), the Fulbright Specialist Program is part of the larger Fulbright Program. It pairs highly qualified U.S. academics and professionals with host institutions abroad, enabling them to share their expertise, strengthen institutional linkages, and gain international experience. Specialists selected for the program engage in a wide range of activities, from delivering seminars and workshops to consulting on faculty or workforce development. These short-term exchanges help build capacity at host institutions and foster cross-cultural understanding.
