Purdue AIChE named Outstanding Student Chapter for third consecutive year

The American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE) Student Chapters Committee has named Purdue AIChE as one of the recipients of the 2017-2018 Outstanding Student Chapter award. This is the third consecutive year that the student organization has been recognized with this award. Purdue AIChE student leaders will be honored at the AIChE Annual Student Conference awards ceremony on October 28, 2018 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Dr. Shelly Peyton to present 2018 Mellichamp Lecture

Dr. Shelly Peyton, Associate Professor and Barry & Afsaneh Siadat Career Development Faculty Fellow in the Department of Chemical Engineering at University of Massachusetts Amherst, will present the 2018 Mellichamp Lecture. Hosted by the Davidson School of Chemical Engineering, Dr. Peyton will present a lecture, Tissue Inspired Hydrogel Design, on Tuesday, October 16 at 3:00 pm in Forney Hall of Chemical Engineering room G140. The event is free and open to the public.

ChE alumnus Timothy Bohrer (MSChE '73) to be inducted in PMMI Packaging & Processing Hall of Fame

Purdue Chemical Engineering alumnus Timothy Bohrer (MSChE '73) will be inducted in the PMMI Packaging & Processing Hall of Fame at the PACK EXPO International in October 2018 at McCormick Place, Chicago, Illinois. During his 45 years in packaging, Bohrer has been named inventor or co-inventor of 17 patents for microwave packaging technology, composite containers, barrier film, thermoforming, and other technologies.
