Kristi Anseth, Purdue ChE alumna (BS ChE ’92),is the recipient of the 2009 Professional Progress Award for Outstanding Progress in Chemical Engineering from the American Institute of Chemical Engineers. She is a Distinguished Professor of Chemical and Biological Engineering at the University of Colorado – Boulder, and a leading researcher in the areas of biomaterials and tissue engineering. She has received numerous prior honors for her outstanding research and teaching, including AIChE’s Colburn Award (2003), NSF’s Alan T. Waterman Award (2004), and election to the National Academy of Engineering (2009). Presentation of this award will take place at the Institute’s Honors Ceremony on November 8, 2009, held during AIChE’s 2009 Annual Meeting in Nashville, TN.
