On April 5, 2011, National Science Foundation announced the 2011 Graduate Research Fellowship awardees. The School of Chemical Engineering is proud that Brian Lowry (BS 2010), Nathan Mahynski (BS 2010), and current graduate student Mary Jane Brennan are among the recipients.

Antonios Mikos (PhD '88) is the recipient of the Society For Biomaterials' 2011 Founders Award for long-term, landmark contributions to the discipline of biomaterials.

Alvin Ang, ChE Senior, participated in multiple student competitions during his time at Purdue as an undergraduate student, and has a tremendous record to add to his resume, starting with winning 1st place and $20,000 in the Purdue Soy Innovation Competition.

Five recent School alumni received National Science Foundation Career Awards in 2010 and 2011.
