Dr. Xiaoping Bao wins 2019 LG Chem Global Innovation Award

Dr. Xiaoping Bao, Assistant Professor in the Davidson School of Chemical Engineering, is winner of the 2019 LG Chem Global Innovation Contest award for his research in human-induced pluripotent stem cells, or hiPSCs. Dr. Bao's research proposal, 'Biomanufacturing Universal Natural Killer Cells from hiPSCs for Immunotherapy', will explore the potential of natural killer (NK) cells, a type of innate immune cells, from hiPSCs for cancer treatment.

Purdue provides access to educational resources written by Engineering faculty

Purdue University is developing a first-of-its-kind collection of engineering educational resources available online, for free or low-cost, to anyone around the world. Purdue Engineering Open Bytes™ will include high-quality textbooks, case studies, monographs and lecture notes written by College of Engineering faculty members. Jan-Anders Mansson, PhD, Distinguished Professor of Materials Engineering and Chemical Engineering, and co-director of the Indiana Next Generation Manufacturing Competitiveness Center (IN-MaC), has one of the first books planned, "Sports Industry Technology Innovation."

ChE faculty honored for years of service at Purdue

Five faculty from Davidson School of Chemical Engineering were honored for years of service to Purdue University during the Faculty Service Recognition Luncheon on December 10. ChE faculty honored were: Rakesh Agrawal (15 years); Elias I. Franses (40 years); Robert E. Hannemann (50 years); Enrico Martinez (10 years); Chongli Yuan (10 years). The event was hosted by the Office of the Provost.

ChE Professor Letian Dou joins Purdue researchers advancing knowledge in intelligent infrastructure

Dr. Letian Dou, Assistant Professor in the Davidson School of Chemical Engineering, is part of the new Purdue University Center for Intelligent Infrastructure (CII), bringing together researchers to advance knowledge and education in the intelligent infrastructure space. The center unites the expertise of Purdue researchers in smart materials, construction, infrastructure resiliency and policy, sensing, system control, data optimization, communication, machine learning and artificial intelligence.
