Four CCE grad students receive Crooks Graduate Scholarship

Woei-Chyi Chang, Paul Chintala, Oluwaseun Olabode, and Jorge Rojas have been selected to receive the 2024 Crooks Graduate Scholarship, awarded to outstanding graduate students in the Lyles School of Civil and Construction Engineering with a concentration in construction engineering.

Purdue Engineering students, faculty win Best Paper Award at TRB

A paper on personalized autonomous driving co-authored by CCE PhD student Can Cui and a group of Purdue Engineering students and faculty received the Best Paper Award by the Transportation Research Board (TRB) Committee on Vehicle-Highway Automation (ACP30) at this year's conference held in Washington, D.C.

Members of the Purdue Underground Construction Association (UCA)/North American Society for Trenchless Technology (NASST) Student Chapter participated in the 2nd Global Buried Asset Management Congress (GBAMC), held November 14-16, 2024, in Indianapolis.

Monica Prezzi elected to DFI Educational Trust Board of Trustees

Dr. Monica Prezzi, Professor of Civil Engineering, has been elected to a two-year term on the Deep Foundations Institute (DFI) Educational Trust Board of Trustees. Since its founding, the DFI Educational Trust has awarded nearly $2 million in scholarships and grants to at least 500 students studying at colleges and universities across the United States and Canada.

39th Annual Civil Engineering Professional Development Seminar

Hundreds of civil engineering professionals from around the world gathered at Purdue University to attend the 39th Annual Civil Engineering Professional Development Seminar. The daylong event covered an array of topics from works zones and the visually impaired to repair strategies for steel bridges.

Dr. Roberto T. Leon, P.E., the C.E. Via Professor of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Virginia Tech University, will present the next Dennis & Leslie Drag Distinguished Lecture, titled "Complexity Lessons from Recent Structural Failures," on Friday, February 28th, 2025 at 5:00pm in HAMP 1144.

Ayman Habib, Thomas A. Page Professor of Civil Engineering, has been named a Fellow of the American Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing (ASPRS). This is one of the highest professional achievement awards bestowed by ASPRS.

Luna Lu appointed vice president of Office of Industry Partnerships

Luna Lu, Reilly Professor of Civil Engineering, has been appointed vice president of the Office of Industry Partnerships. Lu, who will report to the senior vice president for partnerships and online with a dotted line to the executive vice president for research, begins this new role Jan. 1, 2025.
