Professor Ivantysynova is the chair of a number of organizations that evaluate Finnish mechanical engineering research. She has made a valuable contribution to the development of mechanical engineering research at LUT.

A team of researchers based at Purdue University has received a $973,000 grant from the National Science Foundation for a study aimed at helping students of low socioeconomic status succeed in scientific, technological, engineering, and mathematical (STEM) fields.

In the newly launched advanced agriculture project, Sumitomo Chemical is working with Jian Jin, assistant professor of agricultural and biological engineering, to develop image diagnosis technology to look at the shape of a plant, such as its roots or leaves, and analyze which crop protection chemicals or fertilizers are needed.
