The National AgrAbility Project staffed a display at the 2011 FICCDAT/RESNA Conference in Toronto, Ontario, Canada on June 5-8, 2011.  Steve Swain the assistive technology specialist for NAP staffed the display along with conducting a workshop on Evaluating Agricultural Equipment for Secondary Injury Hazards.  The session was well attended and, as one attendee stated, had the most discussion of any workshop he had attended.  Put on your calendar June 28 thru July 3, 2012 for the next RESNA Conference in Baltimore, Maryland.  Additional information can be found on the new RESNA website: www.resna.org. 

Breaking New Ground/Indiana AgrAbility presented two Indiana FFA chapters awards for their Bridging Horizons Community Service Contest projects.  Jay County FFA Chapter received first place for the third year in a row for their project.  One of the chapter member’s father incurred a spinal cord injury several years ago and the chapter poured concrete at the entrance to his tool shed giving him easier access to the tool shed and the equipment inside.  Second place went to the Hagerstown FFA Chapter for their project.  They assisted an elderly woman with home chores and yearly cleanup.  They had planned to construct a ramp to her home but found when they were ready to begin that someone else had built the ramp.  Jay County FFA received $600 for their project and Hagerstown FFA Chapter received $350.

Steve Swain, the rural rehabilitation specialist for BNG, presented BNG services and information at the Hamilton County Ag Day in Noblesville, Indiana.  The event was sponsored by the Hamilton County Farm Bureau and Hamilton County Extension.  The presentation included safety information as well as assistive technology to help prevent injury and to assist after an injury.  Breakfast was served to approximately 20 individuals followed by a presentation on corn and soybean fungicides and BNG.

 The Purdue Cooperative Extension Service Home and Family Conference was held June 7-9, 2011 on the campus of Purdue University.  Kylie Hendress staffed a display of BNG services and publications while Bill Field presented a session on Gardening for People with Disabilities or Those Who are Getting Older.  The conference is sponsored by Health and Human Science extension and is attended by extension homemaker clubs from around the state of Indiana. 

Professor Indrajeet Chaubey presented a paper entitled “Improving the simulation of biofuel crop sustainability assessment using SWAT model” in the International SWAT Conference and Workshop held in Toledo, Spain.  June 13-17. He also served on the Conference Scientific Advisory Committee.
