Inseok Hwang, a professor in AAE, is the recipient of the 2019 C.T. Sun School of Aeronautics and Astronautics Excellence in Research Award.

Adranos Inc., a Purdue University-affiliated company developing a high-performance, solid propellant for long-range missile and space launch systems, won the Army's inaugural xTechSearch competition. Adranos co-founder Brandon Terry received his doctorate in AAE.

Jonathan Poggie, an associate professor in AAE, was chosen by AAE undergraduate students as outstanding teacher for 2019.

Research continues on an eventual 140-million-mile mission to Mars, developing the latest transportation as well as habitats necessary for the red planet. But embarking on such a mission and safely living both during and afterward are differing ideas. The latter is the research focus of AAE Professor Alina Alexeenko.

Scott Meyer went from a Purdue student using labs at Zucrow to becoming the facility's managing director, all evidence of what the OAE calls perfect timing.
