Alumnus Tony Gingiss is the CEO of OneWeb Satellites. OneWeb is building a 650-satellite constellation in low Earth orbit, providing telecommunications and internet services around the world.

Two AAE alumni honored as Distinguished Engineering Alumni

Timothy Cahill and Kenneth Sanger were among seven recognized at Feb. 21 event. The Distinguished Engineering Alumni/Alumnae Award is presented to men and women who have distinguished themselves in any field in ways that reflect favorably on Purdue University, the engineering profession, or society in general.

Gambaros' transformational gift endows, names AAE's graduate program

Ernest Gambaro (BSAE '60, MSAE '61) and wife Monica were honored Feb. 16 in Naples, Fla., for their deep commitment and strong support of AAE. The Gambaro Graduate Program of Aeronautics and Astronautics was approved by Purdue's Board of Trustees on Dec. 7, 2018.

Beyond theory to 'real research,' Collicott's AAE418 class spurs teaching award

Steven Collicott, professor in AAE, was chosen as the Patti Grace Smith STEM Award Winner by the Commercial Spaceflight Federation in its inaugural Commercial Space Leadership Awards for his "leadership as an educator committed to scientific excellence and the expansion of knowledge for the next generation of commercial space pioneers."

Crossley contributes to AIAA SciTech panel

William Crossley, a professor in AAE, was an expert on the "On-Demand Aviation: Challenges and Solutions" panel at the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) Science and Technology Forum and Exposition in early January.
