AAE graduate student Jay Evans was selected for the Science Mathematics and Research for Transformation (SMART) Scholarship-for-Service Program.

“I don’t think I would have been on that ship if Purdue hadn’t been in my background,” says Beth Moses (BSAAE ’92, MSAAE ’94) on her VSS Unity flight in February that reached space, “so it just seemed like I needed to honor that legacy.”

Program helps faculty members explore academic leadership opportunities and develop leadership skills through small-group discussions with Purdue’s senior academic leaders.

Wenbin Yu, a professor in AAE, was chosen for the University Faculty Scholars Program that recognizes outstanding faculty members at the West Lafayette campus who are on an accelerated path for academic distinction.

Kathleen Howell, the Hsu Lo Distinguished Professor of Aeronautics and Astronautics, was honored May 7 with the highest honor that Purdue confers onto a member of its faculty.

FlykeART, which includes AAE students, is in the International Business Model Competition finals, held Thursday and Friday at Brigham Young University.

AAE senior Alec McKeska was one of four Purdue students awarded The Louis Sudler Prize in the Arts for demonstrating excellence and the highest standards of proficiency in the visual or performing arts. Recipients receive $1,000 and a certificate.

Project won $3,000 in SICK, Inc.’s TiM$10K Challenge, created to support innovation and student achievement in automation and technology.

Shaoshuai Mou, an assistant professor in AAE, was recognized for his outstanding work mentoring master’s and Ph.D. students.

Graduate students Nick LaFarge, Jeremy Marcum, Michael Orth, and Jeffrey Pekosh earned the prestigious honor of being named Fellows.
