Acoustic Emission Testing is the sixth volume in the Nondestructive Testing Handbook series, now in its third edition and published by the American Society of Nondestructive Testing in August 2005. The co-technical editors for this book include Eric V.K. Hill, a professor at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, and Ronnie K. Miller, a Purdue graduate (B.S.A.E. 73, M.S.A.E. 75 and Ph.D. 79), who was the sole technical editor for Acoustic Emission Testing, Volume 5, 2nd Edition, Nondestructive Testing Handbook series.
Purdue graduate Mark Geyer has been appointed as deputy program manager of NASA's Constellation Program. The program will be based at NASA's Johnson Space Center in Houston. Geyer earned a bachelor's degree in engineering and a master's degree in aeronautics and astronautics from Purdue.
The Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering Student Advisory Council was founded in 1998 with the purpose of increasing interaction between undergraduate engineering students at all levels of education and the administration of the School of Aeronautics and Astronautics.
