US News & World Report has released this year's national rankings of graduate programs.

The School of Aeronautics and Astronautics ranking for this year is at #4, up from #5 last year.

Thomas Farris, head of AAE, says "For the most part, our students become aerospace engineers because they are following their dreams." For aerospace students the prospects are great as demand for their expertise grows.

Timothée Pourpoint, was honored Tuesday, April 21st as one of Tippy Connect's top 10 professionals under 40 that live and work in the Lafayette, Indiana area.

The Seventh annual College of Engineering Faculty Awards of Excellence will take place on Saturday April 25, 2009 at the Ross-Ade Stadium, West Lafayette, IN.

Purdue alumni Dan Dumbacher and John Gedmark will share their insights into the future of space exploration during the 2009 Purdue Spring Space Forum at 7:00 p.m. April 24 in the atrium of the Neil Armstrong Hall of Engineering.

Andrew Damon, an AAE student from Indianapolis, received the $1,000 Louis Sudler Prize in the Arts for an outstanding senior who has demonstrated excellence and the highest standards of proficiency in the visual or performing arts.

C.T. Sun will receive the inaugural AIAA-ASC James H. Starnes, Jr. Award at an awards luncheon May 6, as part of the 50th AIAA/ASME/ASCE/AHS/ASC Structures, Structural Dynamics, and Materials Conference, held May 4-7, 2009, in Palm Springs, CA.

A team of researchers, including AAE Professor Timothée Pourpoint, has developed a critical part of a hydrogen storage system for cars that makes it possible to fill up a vehicle's fuel tank within five minutes with enough hydrogen to drive 300 miles.
