On Feb. 15 the 50-meter-wide asteroid DA14 will pass within 17,000 miles of Earth. According to Prof. Jay Melosh, if the asteroid were to impact rather than nearly miss Earth, it would explode with a four-megaton force.

2013 Distinguished Engineering Alumni

On February 22nd, the College of Engineering will honor Mark A. Burgess(BSAAE'78, MSAAE'79, MSIA'82) and Richard Byram Rivir (BSAE'60) as two out of ten Engineering Alumni who are distinguished in their engineering careers. The College of Engineering has over 84,000 living alumni. The distinction of DEA has been bestowed upon 489 of these outstanding individuals.
