The Dean's Leadership Scholars, within Purdue University's College of Engineering, recognizes and nurtures the talents of a group of undergraduate students. Established in 2019, the program selects students based on academic and leadership accomplishments to serve in an external advisory role to the dean. This year, 11 new students were selected for the 2024-2025 cohort, joining nine existing scholars.

Three Purdue students have earned the prestigious Astronaut Scholarship for their remarkable efforts and achievements through hours of research and coursework while in undergraduate studies. As Astronaut Scholars, they will build relationships with scholarship alumni and astronauts, as well as pioneers and leaders in their fields of study. In addition, they recently had a unique opportunity to network with these and fellow scholars across the country at the annual Innovator’s Gala held in August.

Each position honors a distinguished figure in AAE history.

Qiao will work in Japan with Tohoku University to study the use of ammonia as a hydrogen carrier for aerospace propulsion.

AAE was ranked third in undergraduate aerospace engineering for the second consecutive year.

Purdue is now a member of the Aeroballistics Range Association.
