Rhonda Walthall is a Technical Fellow, Enterprise Engineering, at Collins Aerospace in Charlotte, NC, a division of United Technologies Corporation (UTC). She leads the Design for Prognostics and Health Management (PHM) Initiative for the Connected Aircraft. She is an industry recognized leader in the development of standards and best practices for PHM and Integrated Vehicle Health Management (IVHM). She holds three patents.

Rhonda started her career with UTC in 2003 as an Auxiliary Power Unit (APU) Systems Integration Engineer and was promoted to Integrated Product Team Leader for the MRJ/ARJ APU Programs. She transferred to Customer Service in 2010 to lead the development and implementation of the Aircraft Systems Health Management Aftermarket service offering, which was UTC’s first PHM application for commercial aircraft systems. She was promoted to Technical Fellow in 2018 and transferred back into Engineering where she could focus on driving PHM capability into Collins’ products.

Prior to joining UTC, Rhonda worked for Northwest Airlines Technical Operations as an Engine Condition Monitoring Powerplant Engineer and for McDonnell Douglas Aircraft Company as an Engine Performance Flight Test Engineer.

Rhonda is a member of the SAE International Board of Directors and a member of the Audit & Review Committee. She is the Vice President and member of the Board of Directors of the PHM Society.
