Carter speaks at PAA Women’s Conference

Purdue IE alum Theresa C. Carter (BSIE 1985) was one of the speakers at the Nov. 1-2 Purdue Alumni Association Women's Conference 2018 in Chicago.

Carter participated in the lunch panel discussion "Not a Man's World: Authentic Stories from Women in Top Level Leadership".

Carter is a retired Major General, United States Air Force. She served 31 years as a civil engineer officer and installation management leader. She is currently CEO and senior strategist for TC3 Solutions LLC. Carter was the first woman civil engineering officer promoted to brigadier general and to serve as the Air Force Civil Engineer — the career field's highest-ranking officer. She is a Purdue Distinguished Engineering Alumna, Outstanding Industrial Engineer, and member of the ROTC Hall of Fame. She is a member of the Purdue Alumni Association Board of Directors, the Purdue School of Industrial Engineering Advisory Council, and the Board of Advisors for United Water Federal Services, Inc.

Carter holds a bachelor's in industrial engineering (Purdue), a master's in industrial engineering (University of Oklahoma), and a master's in national resource strategy (National Defense University). She is also enrolled as a DBA student at Drexel with anticipated completion in 2021.

The Purdue Alumni Association's International Council of Purdue Women hosted the conference in collaboration with the Jane Brock-Wilson Women in Management Center. The conference offered learning, growth and networking opportunities; fostered personal, professional, and intellectual well-being; and enabled attendees to engage with key influencers, industry leaders, and fellow Purdue alumnae. The International Council of Purdue Women creates an alumnae sisterhood that motivates, inspires, uplifts, and connects Purdue alumnae now and for life.
