A workshop was organized in collaboration with the Lafayette Christian School where middle-school students were introduced to state-of-the-art design and manufacturing technology at Purdue University. The idea behind this workshops was to provide a stimulating, hands-on, and interactive presentation of . In the workshop, students between 4th and 7th grades were given a tour of the Mechanical Engineering toy museum and were introduced to 3D printing with a live demonstration. The students also used zPots, a creative application that uses the Leap Motion sensor for direct three-dimensional interactions with bare hands to create virtual pottery.
