Pawan Rao

Pawan is a graduate student at the School of Mechanical Engineering at Purdue University. He started the graduate school, joined the lab in the Fall of 2017 with a focus in product design of electromechanical systems, mechatronics, and robotics.

Prior to joining the C-Design lab, Pawan received B.E. in mechanical engineering from Visvesvaraya Technological University, India (2015). Further, he worked at Asteria Aerospace, Bangalore for two years as a Product Development Engineer where he architected product solutions for unmanned aerial systems. He has extensive hands-on experience in developing ideas from concept to reality drawing expertise from mechanical design, systems engineering, prototyping, manufacturing, and materials.

His current work delves into development of Internet of Robotic Things (IoRT) platforms for authoring mobile robot workflows. Other areas of his interest include - Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Robotics, Cyber-Physical Systems (CPS), Human Centric Design, Product Design of Electromechanical Systems, Constraint-Driven Innovations, and Prototyping.
