The C-Design Lab conducted a hands-on mid-air shape modeling session as a part of the Robotics Workshops conducted by the FIRST Forum. Middle school students participated in creative design activities through hands-on experience with zPots – a virtual pottery application that allows users to create 3D virtual pots by moving their bare hands in mid-air. The students were also engaged in three-dimensional gaming with Cueb – a 3D billiards game controlled my hand gestures and motions in mid-air. As a result of this experience, students were introduced to vision based depth sensing technologies such as the Leap Motion sensor.
