Animals form an integral part of our ecosystem, and automated methods to analyze animals visually can provide valuable information. This team will build systems and software to extract information about animals from images and videos. Imagery will be provided, from livestock (e.g., dairy cows), horticultural insects (e.g., honey bees), and wild animals (e.g., baboons). Goals will be to detect, count, and measure attributes of animals in their habitats.

Video Analytics for Daily Living (VADL) lab
