Purdue Space Day 2022 Registration

The 27th Annual Purdue Space Day will be held Saturday, October 29, 2022.

The registration and selection process

  • Registration begins on Monday, August 1, 2022 and ends at 11:59 pm on Friday, September 2, 2022
  • Participants are selected by a random lottery
Registering with this form does not mean that your child(ren) will be able to attend Purdue Space Day; it places them into a lottery which will then select the participants.
  • There is no advantage to early registration
As long as they are registered by the time registration closes, they will be in the drawing. Everyone who has registered has an equal chance.
  • You can use this form to register up to three (3) children at once
If you need to register more than three children, complete another registration for any additional children.
  • Multiple children can be considered separately, or only selected if there's room for all of them
If you choose the all-or-none option and any of your children can't be placed, then none will be selected, and they will not be put on waitlists.
  • Registration will be confirmed by email
After submitting this form, you will receive an email (sent to the email address you provide below) to confirm that you have successfully registered your child(ren) for the randomized drawing.
  • Participants will be notified by email shortly after the registration period ends.
Welcome emails will be sent to those who are selected by the lottery to participate. We expect this to happen on Friday, September 9.
  • Children who are not selected will be put on waitlists
Registrants who are not selected in the lottery will be randomly placed into a waitlist for their age group, and will will receive an email telling them their position on the list.
  • Please tell us if your child will not be able to attend
If a participant informs us before the event that they will not be able to attend, then we can offer their spot to the next person on the waitlist for their age group.
  • Detailed event information will be emailed to the selected participants in early October.

Parent Information

Parents, we need the information you enter below to be accurate and up to date. The contact information you provide here will be the only means we have to contact you with specific details about your child's experience at Purdue Space Day.

Chaperone Information (if different from parent above)

Please provide contact information for the person who will be dropping off and picking up your child at Purdue Space Day. We will only release the child to the parent listed above or the chaperone listed below.

Participant Information

It is important to register each child under the school grade in which they are currently enrolled to ensure they receive the appropriate materials.

Demographic Information

The questions about gender, race/ethnicity, and language are purely optional and not required to register your child for Purdue Space Day. The information collected here is strictly confidential and is used only to fulfill reporting requirements of some of the grants used to fund this program. If you do not wish to participate, simply skip those questions.

Multiple children

Parents who are registering multiple children: we will try to place as many of your children as we can, but it's possible that some age groups may have filled up by the time our random selection script gets to your registration form. In that case, some of your children might be selected to participate, while others will be placed on waitlists.

If you are only interested in having your children be selected if all of them will be able attend, then you should check the box below. If you select this option and they can't all be placed in their age groups, they will not be put on waitlists.

T-Shirt Sales

We will be selling t-shirts on the event day for $15. While they are not required, they make for a fun souvenir (for both kids and parents!). The proceeds from these shirts go directly to the student organization and help to offset the costs associated with running this event every year. This year's design will be released soon. Both cash and checks will be accepted, and we will have all sizes on hand while supplies last.

Rules & Safety

Parents, Purdue Space Day allows children the opportunity to learn about space in a fun and engaging environment. Parents are welcome to join their children on the day of the event, especially if you feel your child may have trouble following any of our rules. That being said, we encourage you to sit back and watch your children do the activities on their own so that they can get the most out of their Purdue Space Day experience. Group Leaders have the authority and are expected to enact disciplinary measures when necessary. Barring any physical violence or bullying, children who misbehave will be presented with an official warning from their leader and, if the behavior continues, further disciplinary measures will be taken, such as being taken out of activities or having their parents called to take them home.

We encourage each parent to look over our full list of rules here with their child prior to the event day.
