Purdue Nuclear Engineering's Senior Design team was selected as finalists for the 2016 American Nuclear Society (ANS) student design competition. Team members include Phillip Dressman, Abhijit Jassem, Trevor Kyle, Ryan Nicholson, Sara Sanders, and Dylan Toneff.

Two student researchers are recipients of the 2016 Society for Applied Spectroscopy (SAS) Undergraduate Student Award. Payson Dieffenbach and Liesl Krause received the award which recognizes undergraduate researchers for their contributions in the field of spectroscopy.

Five Purdue Nuclear Engineering students participated in the 2016 Summer Undergraduate Research (SURF) symposium on August 4 in the Neil Armstrong Hall of Engineering.
