Gary Cheng receives Milton C. Shaw manufacturing research medal
Gary Cheng, professor of industrial engineering, received the 2022 Milton C. Shaw Manufacturing Research Medal at the American Society for Mechanical Engineers (ASME) Annual Manufacturing Science & Engineering Conference. The meeting took place at Purdue University in West Lafayette, IN, on June 27-July 1, 2022.
The award citation reads: "for significant contributions to manufacturing science in laser-based scalable nanomanufacturing processes, publishing high-quality journal papers and patents, and advancing the understanding of laser-matter interactions.."
The Milton C. Shaw Manufacturing Research Medal, established in 2009, is an ASME Society-Level award that recognizes significant fundamental contributions to the science and technology of manufacturing processes. It consists of a bronze medal, certificate and cash award.
