Siting charging stations for electric vehicle adoption in shared autonomous fleets

Interest in electric vehicles (#EV) is rapidly increasing, requiring EV charging infrastructure and polices to evolve as demand shifts.

However, #electrification is not the only revolution happening in the transportation sector. Autonomous driving and ride sharing are also game changers, and how these three technologies interact matter for infrastructure planning and technology adoption.

New research from Purdue Climate Change Research Center affiliate Hau Cai proposes a framework for locating electric vehicle charging infrastructure and evaluates three EV adoption scenarios that consider varying levels of autonomous driving and ride sharing use. Cai also evaluates the potential for #CO2 emissions reductions under these adoption scenarios.
