Kou is a member of Dr. Hua Cai's uSMART group, and his dissertation title is "Modelling bike share systems: comparison and optimization of different system types, pricing schemes, and rebalancing strategies".

The Donnan Fellowship provides up to one year of graduate student support, including a stipend and graduate tuition, to help graduate student complete their final year of doctoral degree requirements.
