Wu wins ORAU award
On May 5, Assistant Professor Wenzhuo Wu received this year’s Oak Ridge Associated Universities (ORAU) Ralph E. Powe Junior Faculty Enhancement Award for his research on 2D piezoelectric semiconductors for developing a new class of electronics that can be controlled by mechanical signals.
This award will run for one year.
ORAU, a 121-member consortium of major PhD-granting academic institutions, cultivates collaborative partnerships that enhance national scientific research and education enterprise. The Ralph E. Powe Junior Faculty Enhancement Awards provide seed money for research by junior faculty at ORAU member institutions. These awards are intended to enrich the research and professional growth of young faculty and result in new funding opportunities.
There are 35 awardees this year across the country from ORAU’s sponsoring institutions, in Engineering and Applied Science; Life Sciences; Mathematics/Computer Sciences; Physical Sciences; and Policy, Management, or Education.
