About 80 students made up the teams, which are working on a wide variety of projects throughout Indiana. The teams presented posters describing the projects in Grissom's Peter Wang Student Excellence Center. The poster session objective was to give the students an opportunity to showcase their projects, get expert opinions from faculty members and graduate students, and find faculty with expertise or interest in the problem to mentor them throughout the semester. 

Some of the companies showcased included Kroger, Lemongrass Restaurant, Buchanan, ConAgra Foods, Premier Auto Detailing and Wash, Endress and Hauser, Purdue Dining Courts, Lafayette Police Department, and RecycleForce. 

At the end of the fall semester, the teams will present their finished projects at another poster session and three winning teams will be selected.
