IE Academic Advisor honored for excellence

Elizabeth Allum receives award from CoE Dean Leah Jamieson.
IE Academic Advisor Elizabeth Allum was recognized for excellent service to the Purdue University College of Engineering at the 2015 Engineering Staff Awards of Excellence. She was a finalist for the New Employee Award.

In Allum's nomination, Senior Academic Administrator Dr. Patrick Brunese commended “her passion for working with students every day with uncommon grace and patience”. Her award reads, in part: “Students praise her approachability, positive demeanor and willingness to listen. She demonstrates uncommon initiative in taking on new responsibilities and improving her skill set. While not an industrial engineer herself, she regularly attends IE classes to keep up-to-date on course content. She has also taken a leadership role in launching a student chapter for the Institute of Healthcare Improvement (IHI) Open School. Her warmth, compassion, humor and intuition make her an exceptional role model for the students.”

The honorees were recognized at the annual College of Engineering Staff Awards Banquet on December 4 hosted by Leah Jamieson, John A. Edwardson Dean of Engineering. Allum has worked in Purdue Industrial Engineering since February 2014. Congratulations, Elizabeth!
