BIOGRAPHY

Dr. Ben Fong is currently the Associate Professor of Practice in IE at Purdue University. Prior to that, he was a senior global product portfolio manager with 28 years of experience in R&D, IoT product strategy, operational excellence, and commercial growth. Ben was a former DFSS Master Black Belt at GE Healthcare and a Global Product Support Manager at Caterpillar. As a Senior Global Product Management owner, he was responsible for a total $500M products P&L. He worked over 20 industrial sectors from 60+ U.S. and global facilities. Ben was the former IISE North Central Regional VP, ARVP for Student Development, and IISE Industrial Advisory Board Member. He graduated with his BSME from University of Texas at Arlington. He earned his MSME (AI Mechatronics) and PhD (Responsive Manufacturing Systems Control) from Virginia Tech.
