Last semester, students in Professor Inez Hua's section of First-Year Engineering ENGR 13100 participated in an engineering design challenge centered on voting technology and improving United States voter participation. Most students in the class were not old enough to vote in any previous election, so this unique assignment provided the opportunity to practice the engineering design process while also learning about the voting process.

A Boilermaker Welcome! Anne Wrobetz is joining us this fall in our graduate program. She is from Longmont, Colorado and earned her BS in Environmental Engineering and MS in Civil Engineering, both from the University of Colorado at Boulder.

A Boilermaker Welcome! Azizi Penn is a native of California, born in South Los Angeles. She discovered coding in high school and has been hooked ever since. She earned a B.S. in Computer Science directly after high school and an M.S. in Software Engineering later in life. She is married with three children.

A Boilermaker Welcome! Bray Bonner joins us from Atlanta, Georgia. He has worked in academia for the last seven years serving as an engineering technology instructor and program director (department chair) at a technical college for four years. Currently, Bray is an IT project manager lead for Instructional Technology and Research, where he manages high performance computing (HPC) projects whose end users are national researchers, campus faculty and their students.

A Boilermaker Welcome! Fadhla is from Banda Aceh, Aceh, Indonesia. She received a Bachelor of Engineering in Informatics from Gunadarma University located in the Indonesia capital of Jakarta. She also received a MS in Communication and Media Engineering from Hochscule Offenberg on a German Academic Exchange scholarship.
