NYU's Jeffrey A. Hubbell delivers 2026 Kelly Lecture
WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. — The Davidson School of Chemical Engineering at Purdue University welcomed Dr. Jeffrey A. Hubbell of New York University as the featured speaker for the 2026 Kelly Lecture on April 7-8.
Hubbell presented a lecture titled “Molecular Engineering to Tip Immune Balances Between Tolerance and Aggression," to both faculty and current graduate students.
A professor of biology, chemical and biomolecular engineering, and medicine at New York University, Hubbell is widely recognized for his contributions to biomaterials and translational bioengineering. His research spans drug delivery, immunoengineering and regenerative medicine, with a focus on translating fundamental science into clinical applications.
The lectures, held in Forney Hall, were hosted for faculty, graduate students and researchers to explore the evolving role of chemical engineering in addressing complex health challenges. Hosted by Purdue faculty members You-Yeon Won and Xiaoping Bao, the event also provided attendees the opportunity to engage with Hubbell during the discussion.
The Kelly Lecture is part of a long-standing seminar series within Purdue’s Davidson School of Chemical Engineering that brings distinguished leaders in academia and industry to campus. The series highlights innovative research and fosters collaboration across disciplines.
