ChE alumnus Christopher N. Bowman (BSChE '88, PhD '91, OChE '16) elected to National Academy of Medicine

Davidson School of Chemical Engineering alumnus Christopher N. Bowman (BSChE '88, PhD '91, OChE '16) has been elected to the National Academy of Medicine. Bowman, Distinguished Professor and James and Catherine Patten Endowed Chair of Chemical and Biological Engineering, University of Colorado, is among 70 new regular members and 10 international members announced on October 16. Election to the National Academy of Medicine is one of the highest honors in the fields of health and medicine and recognizes individuals who have demonstrated outstanding professional achievement and commitment to service.

LoDos Theranostics selected as winner at the New Venture Competition hosted by BioCrossroads

LoDos Theranostics LLC, a Purdue-affiliated life sciences startup, received the first-place prize at the New Venture Competition hosted by BioCrossroads. Davidson School of Chemical Engineering Professor You-Yeon Won and Rachel Kim, an MBA graduate from MIT Sloan, co-founded LoDos Theranostics to develop radio luminescence therapy. This technology is a nanoparticle ultraviolet radiation technique that enhances the destruction of deep tissue cancerous tumors.
