Senior Ryan McDonnell Wins Purdue's 2015 Louis Sudler Prize

Purdue honored senior Ryan McDonnell with the 2015 Louis Sudler Prize in the Arts. This distinction is awarded to an outstanding senior who has demonstrated excellence and the highest standards of proficiency in the visual or performing arts.

McDonnell is a trombone player in Purdue’s All-American Marching Band and has been section leader for the last two years. He also played lead trombone in the Purdue Jazz Band and was the principal trombonist in the Wind Ensemble for four years.

The late Louis Sudler, a Chicago businessman and supporter of the arts, endowed this award. The recipient receives $1,000 and a certificate. The 2014 Louis Sudler Prize also was awarded to a student in Chemical Engineering, Jasmine Morris.
