Giorgini won several awards and distinctions as an outstanding teacher of fluid mechanics and engineering mathematics at the graduate and undergraduate levels. He emphasized the relationship between function and aesthetics. As he put it, "mathematics can be beautiful, and shapes can be useful." Though he passed away in 1994, an exhibition of his art (some never before seen) will be on display.
