Purdue University Trustee Scholar Trevor Moore was selected as a 2018-19 Institute of Transportation Engineers Indiana Section Edward J. Cox Memorial Transportation Scholarship Awardee. He received this ITE award at the Purdue Road School Banquet held on Wednesday, March 7th.

Purdue University Trustee Scholar Trevor Moore was selected as a 2018-19 Institute of Transportation Engineers Indiana Section Edward J. Cox Memorial Transportation Scholarship Awardee.  He received this ITE award at the Purdue Road School Banquet held on Wednesday, March 7th.

As a Lyles School of Civil Engineering and Purdue Honors College student, Trevor has been an active member in the Purdue civil engineering community, serving as Vice President of the Purdue Chapter of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), a Student Ambassador for the Lyles School of Civil Engineering, and a member the Civil Engineering Honors Society, Chi Epsilon. For the previous two years he served as Treasurer and subsequently Co-Chairman of the Purdue Engineering Honors Leadership Council.  At Purdue, Trevor has also worked as an undergraduate Teaching Assistant for Honors Engineering Courses and in Bowen Laboratory as an Undergraduate Research Assistant.

Originally from Fort Washington, MD, Trevor has had several civil engineering internship positions in the Washington DC Metropolitan area, as well as worked for a recreational boating company on the Potomac River. He has been an active volunteer in his local community including raising and training seeing eye guide dogs.  While attending Purdue, Trevor’s involvement has not been limited to his engineering studies, as he has enjoyed playing on numerous soccer and volleyball intramural teams.

The Edward J. Cox Memorial Transportation Scholarship Award is presented annually by the Indiana Section of the Institute of Transportation Engineers to encourage students to consider Transportation Engineering/Planning in their studies and career aspirations and to provide partial financial support for tuition and fees to students who have demonstrated an interest in and are likely to work in the transportation field.
