PhD student Lisa Losada was selected as a 2018-19 Institute of Transportation Engineers Indiana Section Edward J. Cox Memorial Transportation Scholarship Awardee at the graduate level. She received this ITE award at the Purdue Road School Banquet held on March 7th.

PhD student Lisa Losada was selected as a 2018-19 Institute of Transportation Engineers Indiana Section Edward J. Cox Memorial Transportation Scholarship Awardee at the graduate level.  She received this ITE award at the Purdue Road School Banquet held on March 7th.

Lisa Losada did her undergrad studies at the Universidad Nacional de Colombia. She obtained her Master’s degree from Purdue University in December 2017 under the supervision of Dr. Nadia Gkritza. She is currently a PhD student in the Lyles School of Civil Engineering studying transportation. Lisa has served as Social Chair for the Purdue ITE chapter. She was also part of the Purdue ITE Student Leadership Summit as a sponsorship coordinator in 2017. Lisa was part of the Purdue ITE Traffic Bowl team that won the Great Lake District competition in 2017. Lisa is also part of the Colombian Student Association at Purdue where she served as a treasurer in 2017. In fall 2017, she was awarded one of the Purdue Women in Engineering Program Travel Grants.

The Edward J. Cox Memorial Transportation Scholarship Award is presented annually by the Indiana Section of the Institute of Transportation Engineers to encourage students to consider Transportation Engineering/Planning in their studies and career aspirations and to provide partial financial support for tuition and fees to students who have demonstrated an interest in and are likely to work in the transportation field.
